Butler,GA-Taylor County High School has been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) as a 2024-2025 Literacy Leader, a distinction awarded to schools demonstrating exceptional student progress in reading and literacy. Taylor County High School is among only 406 schools statewide to earn this recognition.
At the high school level, the Literacy Leader designation is based on students’ performance on the American Literature End-of-Course assessment and determined using the percentage of students designated as reading on or above grade level.
Superintendent Jennifer Albritton celebrated this recognition and noted that “we are very proud of the recognition of our high school as a Literacy Leader. I am grateful for the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers, and the instructional leadership of Mrs. Parks and her administrative team. This achievement is a reflection of the high school’s dedication to continuous growth.”
