Taylor County FFA Veterinary Science Team Competes in Area Event

The Taylor County High FFA Veterinary Science Team recently placed 2nd in the Area 3 FFA Veterinary Science Career Development Event.  The event was held at Camp John Hope in Fort Valley on Thursday, December 2, 2021.

The Veterinary Science CDE is a competitive activity that tests participant's ability to apply veterinary science knowledge and skill in practical settings as well as identify breeds, parasites and equipment. Participants also complete a written exam and respond to scenario questions about current topics in the veterinary industry. Teams present to a panel of judges about the roles and responsibilities of the veterinary team in a variety of situations involving patients from companion animals to large animals. Team members include Levi Crook, Hayden Crook, Amberlynn Hernandez, and Abigail Blanton. Levi Crook placed 1st individual overall.

The team will compete for state honors February 11-12, 2022 at Camp John Hope in Fort Valley.  The state winner will advance to national competition held in conjunction with the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, in October.
