In Celebration of the Completion of the New Athletic Complex
On behalf of the Taylor County Board of Education and the faculty and staff of the Taylor County School System, I would like to invite you to tour our new athletic facilities on October 29, 2026. Please join us at any time between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Please park in the Viking Parking area located on Viking Way. The entrance to the athletic complex will be near the football/track concession stand.
We are excited to share this special occasion with you and hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to see our new athletic fields and facilities. We are deeply grateful to the citizens of Taylor County for making our new athletic complex possible. Your support through several funding initiatives has helped bring this vision to completion, and we have worked diligently to ensure that this investment makes you—and, most importantly, our students—proud.

You have taught, inspired, and encouraged generations of Taylor County students, making a lasting difference in our schools and community. We sincerely appreciate your dedication, hard work, and commitment to education. It is our privilege to offer each of you a “Rocking T” key chain as a small token of our appreciation. You are welcome to pick up your key chain at the Board Office during the week of November 2, 2026 or November 9, 2026 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Additionally, I would like to invite our retired educators to tour our new athletic facilities on October 29, 2026. Please meet us at the softball/baseball parking lot on R.L. McDougald Drive at any time between 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. We would love to welcome you back and give you an opportunity to see these exciting additions to our school system.

Congratulations to our students, faculty, and staff for the teamwork, dedication, and commitment that made this outstanding accomplishment possible. The District has been made aware of rumors regarding a possible threat to our schools. Law enforcement has been notified. At this time, we have no information indicating that there is a credible threat to our schools. We are continuing to investigate and monitor the situation in coordination with local law enforcement. As always, the safety and security of our students and staff remain our top priority.
