Mrs. Tammy Berryhill is Taylor County's District Teacher of the Year
On Monday, April 29, 2024, Mrs. Tammy Berryhill was announced as the 2024 Taylor County School District Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Berryhill was earlier named the Taylor County High School Teacher of the Year and completed an application, interview, and classroom observation to win the honor of District Teacher of the Year.
Mrs. Berryhill has 20 years of experience in the education profession. After receiving her Masters Degree from Columbus State University in Early Childhood Education, she later returned to Piedmont University to earn her Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs. Berryhill currently teaches Anatomy and Physiology at Taylor County High School. She also teaches Dual Enrollment Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) courses in conjunction with South Georgia Technical College. Mrs. Berryhill is excited about the CNA program, and the opportunity this program provides to students who wish to pursue a career in healthcare. Mrs. Berryhill serves as a mentor for new teachers, leads professional development workshops and participates in curriculum development projects at her school and throughout the district. She is a senior sponsor and a vital part of the community of Taylor County High School. As a dedicated RN, she still manages to find time to continue her professional work as a hospice nurse.
Mrs. Berryhill will now compete against other teachers throughout the state to be named Georgia's Teacher of the Year. Again, please join us in congratulating her for this outstanding recognition and let's wish her luck in the next phase.
Congratulations Mrs. Berryhill!
