An Open Letter to the Citizens of Taylor County
In Celebration of the Completion of the New Athletic Complex

On behalf of the Taylor County Board of Education and the faculty and staff of the Taylor County School System, I would like to invite you to tour our new athletic facilities on October 29, 2026. Please join us at any time between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Please park in the Viking Parking area located on Viking Way. The entrance to the athletic complex will be near the football/track concession stand.

We are excited to share this special occasion with you and hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to see our new athletic fields and facilities. We are deeply grateful to the citizens of Taylor County for making our new athletic complex possible. Your support through several funding initiatives has helped bring this vision to completion, and we have worked diligently to ensure that this investment makes you—and, most importantly, our students—proud.

Thank you for your continued support of our schools and our students. We look forward to welcoming you and celebrating this exciting milestone with our community.

An Open Letter to the Retired Educators of Taylor County
In Celebration of Georgia Retired Educators Day
November 1, 2026


The Taylor County Board of Education and the faculty and staff of the Taylor County School System would like to recognize the remarkable contributions of our retired educators. You have taught, inspired, and encouraged generations of Taylor County students, making a lasting difference in our schools and community. We sincerely appreciate your dedication, hard work, and commitment to education. It is our privilege to offer each of you a “Rocking T” key chain as a small token of our appreciation. You are welcome to pick up your key chain at the Board Office during the week of November 2, 2026 or November 9, 2026 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Additionally, I would like to invite our retired educators to tour our new athletic facilities on October 29, 2026. Please meet us at the softball/baseball parking lot on R.L. McDougald Drive at any time between 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. We would love to welcome you back and give you an opportunity to see these exciting additions to our school system.

Congratulations, Anna Beth Carpenter!

Taylor County High School is proud to congratulate Anna Beth Carpenter, a TCHS sophomore, on being selected to serve on State School Superintendent Richard Woods’ Student Advisory Council for the 2026-2027 school year.

Anna Beth will join students from across Georgia to share her perspective as a student and provide feedback on issues impacting Georgia’s public school students. Members of the Student Advisory Council have the opportunity to meet with Superintendent Woods, discuss education-related topics, and help provide student voice and perspective in conversations about public education.

We are proud to see Anna Beth represent Taylor County High School and the Taylor County community in this statewide leadership opportunity. Congratulations, Anna Beth! We look forward to seeing all you accomplish in this role! 💙💛
