Taylor County High School

The Taylor County School System has excelled in its 4-year cohort graduation rate for the year 2023. The Taylor County School System’s 4-year cohort graduation rate for the year 2023 is 92.13% and exceeds the state cohort graduation rate of 84.4%. Congratulations to our students, faculty and staff for the teamwork that produced this accomplishment.

This week at TCHS, Oct. 11

Cadet Major Kadedria McDowell was promoted to her rank and assumed command of the Viking Battalion. Mrs. Parks, Principal, Taylor County High School and Lt. Col. McLeod, Senior Army Instructor, pinned on her rank. McDowell is a senior who also serves as a drum major and was recently voted as the Vikings 2023 Homecoming Queen. As the commander, she is charged with providing vision and guidance to the cadets and is responsible for all battalion activities and training. Her Battalion Executive Officer is Senior and Cadet Captain Grace Harp, who will lead the coordinating cadet staff. She was promoted by her parents and Taylor County School teachers, Langdon & Christie Harp.
