July 30, 2021 Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians, As we approach the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year, I would like to thank each of you for your support and patience throughout the last school year. We are planning to return to a more traditional school environment. However, we will be prepared to respond to any new developments that occur. We will continue to consider the guidance from the Georgia Department of Education, Georgia Department of Public Health, Centers for Disease Control, Georgia High School Association, Governor’s Office, Taylor County Health Department and local health officials in the event of any health concerns that arise related to COVID-19. The Taylor County School District plans to only utilize in-person instruction for your children during the 2021-2022 school year. We will continue to follow some of the health and safety procedures and strategies that were in place last year, and we have plans to make improvements to HVAC systems and water fountains to provide a healthier environment. Additionally, we are enhancing our intervention programs to address academic needs that have been exacerbated as a result of COVID-19. These two lanes will become a single lane as stops are made to pick up students. Upper Elementary School – Cars will line up in a single lane up to a certain marked point. At dismissal, cars will be allowed to pull forward while remaining in the single lane as stops are made to pick up students. Middle School/High School – The parent pick-up area by the Board of Education office will be for sixth grade and seventh grade students. Eighth grade – twelfth grade students will be picked up at the Auditorium parking area. If you are picking up students from multiple grade levels at the middle/high school campus, please park in the area of the student in the lowest grade level. An Expression of Sympathy to the Family of Bobbette Harper On behalf of the Taylor County Board of Education and the faculty and staff of the Taylor County School System, we offer our condolences to the family of Bobbette Harper. She has served our school system faithfully in the central office helping countless employees and retirees, and she was a vital part of our business operations. Our hearts are broken, as we reflect on how much her quiet and gentle spirit encouraged us. She will be greatly missed. In her memory, we will be placing a wreath on the door of the central office. With our deepest sympathy, Jennifer Albritton Taylor County School Superintendent

An Expression of Sympathy to the Family of Dr. Brian McCarthy On behalf of the Taylor County Board of Education and the faculty and staff of the Taylor County School System, we offer our condolences to the family of Dr. McCarthy. In his last few years, he has inspired us with his courage and determination as he continued to teach while having many physical limitations. Over the years, he has challenged our students and has left an indelible mark on our school system. In his memory, our schools will have a moment of silence tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. Our hearts are saddened by the news of his passing, and he will be greatly missed.
