TCUES celebrated students that met their AR goals during the 1st 9 weeks. Students got to spin the wheel for prizes, enjoy Krispie Kreme Doughnuts, and even visit the game room!
The Taylor County School System has performed well this year in regards to its 4-year cohort graduation rate for the year 2022. The Taylor County School System’s 4-year cohort graduation rate for the year 2022 is 86.02% and exceeds the state cohort graduation rate of 84.1%. Congratulations to our students, faculty and staff for the teamwork that produced this accomplishment. It is our goal to keep up the good work as we partner together to offer excellent educational opportunities for the students of Taylor County.

We have updated our COVID-19 Reopening Guidelines that are posted on our website under the heading COVID-19 Information. There were only minor changes since our last update on April 6, 2022. As part of our COVID-19 Reopening Guidelines, we have included a link to our American Rescue Plan(ARP)Act – ESSER III-LEA Application. We will continue to monitor the spread of COVID-19 in our school system as well as our community. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.

An Expression of Sympathy to the Family of Mr. Rufus Green
On behalf of the Taylor County Board of Education and the faculty and staff of the Taylor County School System, we offer our condolences to the family of Mr. Rufus Green. The news of his passing brought us much sadness. He held many positions in the school system with board member being the most recent. In addition to his work with our school system, he was a community leader and served as a county commissioner. Mr. Green will be long remembered for the kindness and gentleness he exhibited to those who worked with him. In his memory, we will be placing a wreath on the door of the central office. He will be greatly missed.

GA Milestones: Test Taking Tips for Parents & Students
1. Make sure your child gets an ample, normal amount of sleep the night before the test 2. Mark testing days on your calendar to help remind you and your child when the testing will take place and plan your preparations. 3. The student should eat a nutritious and filling breakfast (at home or at school). Avoid high sugar cereals which can make the student hyper and/or unfocused. 4. Make sure the student is on time (if not early) on the day of testing 5. Set a backup alarm to avoid the possibility of oversleeping 6. If your child is sick please contact the school immediately to inform them.

1. Facemasks are no longer required on our buses. We will still have facemasks available on our buses.
2. We have updated our American Rescue Plan(ARP) Act – ESSER III-LEA Application. In addition to addressing learning opportunity losses, we will focus on maintaining the operations and continuity of services in our school system.

Taylor County Upper Elementary School was very happy to announce our first Grandparent's Day Celebration at our school since the pandemic.
Thanks to ALL the Grandparents and Grandfriends who came out to enjoy a continental breakfast, short program, photo booth and to visit with us in our classrooms. You certainly know to make us feel special.
